Too Young For Anything Serious

This is an issue that I recently thought about after a friend of mines broke up with her boyfriend. I asked her why she did it and she told me "well, we are too young for anything serious".I asked her did he do anything wrong and the only thing she could say was that he wanted to be too serious and they are too young(Both of them are 23). Some of you have been told this by someone you care about, some of you have said this to people. You could be in a relationship with someone you think is perfect, it is only natural to want to take the next step. But just when you put your guard down they will hit you in the head with the cliche saying "We are too young for anything serious". Just like that you can feel the walls caving in on you as you realize what you thought you had was nothing.The worst thing about the cliche is that people have said it so much that the masses believe it wholeheartedly so they say the words effortlessly and cling to them like gospel. The theory that you are "too young" for anything serious is something I can't subscribe to. In my humble opinion there is no such thing as being too young, only too late, not sure, or not the right one. The sad thing is the people you love don't have the heart to tell you this even when they know this in their heart.
